FAQ

What's the best way to burn Foxlight Candle Co. Candles?

Our recommended burn time is 3-4 hours. Be sure to trim the wick to 5mm before each lighting to prevent excess sooting and ensure flame stability. Trim your wick using a wick cutter (scissors or nail clippers can come in handy if you don't own any).  Always allow the melt pool to reach the edges of the jar before extinguishing. Doing so not only allows for even burning, but prevents "tunneling" and wax from building along the sides of the jar, ensuring product quality and longevity!

How should I extinguish my candle?

A proper wick snuffer works great. Never attempt to extinguish a candle using water!

What ingredients are in Foxlight Candle Co. Candles?

The formula for our range of soy candles is simple: 100% soy wax, high quality fragrance oil and a double wooden wick.

Why choose 100% soy wax?

We choose to work with 100% soy wax for a variety of reasons. We love that it is  natural, sustainable and eco-friendly. We love that it is made with renewable sources. We love that it burns cleaner and longer than paraffin waxes. We love how well it mixes with our fragrances, giving the best hot and cold scent throws. Most of all, we love that its natural and non-toxic!

How fragrant are Foxlight Candle Co. candles?

Because we use natural soy wax, our candles will not have the same scent throw as harmful paraffin candles. We use super high quality fragrance oils that ensure our candles smell great without being overpowering. We find that our candle scents fill a medium-size room nicely.

Why are there dark spots in my candle?

A common characteristic of natural soy wax is the appearance of wet spots or blemishes. These minor imperfections happen because soy wax tends to contract as it cools, causing it to pull slightly away from the glass in certain areas.

While some may perceive these spots as flaws, they are, in fact, a natural and expected feature of 100% soy wax. Unlike synthetic waxes that use additives to create a uniform look, soy wax embraces its natural qualities, showing that it’s free from synthetic stabilisers or fillers. This does not affect the quality or performance of the candle.

This can sometimes happen during transit due to the fluctuating U.K. climate and/or coming inside your home from the cold.
